One Year

It's been one year since my husband (now ex) left. Kind of a bad anniversary, I guess, even though I'm much better off for it. Not to mention much happier, for the most part :)

Since I stopped running for almost five months on this date last year, I'm going to mark the date with a five-miler around the neighborhood this evening and think about how my life has changed in the past year. Since he left, I've had to move in with my parents until I'm finished with school, but that's really the only negative. And it's not even really a negative; just...unusual for someone my age ;) I've lost about 25 pounds. I'm doing great in school. I'm gainfully employed (and we'll just leave it at that--hahaha. Retail sucks.) I've got a good support system of friends and family. I'm finally figuring out who I am and what I want from life. And I like who I am, for the first time in a long time.

Life is pretty good, and will be getting better very soon. So I guess I owe him one :)

And hopefully, one day, I won't remember why August 4 was significant.

If you are happier and better off, then actually its a good day to remember. Keep smiling!

Wow! The ironic thing on this date I was married! That is scary! *shudder* :) You're a strong woman! God will watch over you, if you let Him.
